Here are some tips to convert leads and sell your affiliate product, physical, or digital product online! This post will assume that you are using blogging to sell your product, but you can also use these strategies for videos (such as on TikTok or YouTube)!
Providing Value
Start by writing useful and helpful helpful blog content that answers the question that your audience is searching for. Don’t make it a sales pitch, but instead share your knowledge on your subject and demonstrate how your product can solve a reader’s problem. When in doubt on how to write, just share your own experience. Also, be detailed and give examples. Assume someone is a beginner and is learning something for the first time. This is what people like to hear about anyways, it is relatable! Make sure your website and product photos look good.
Address Pain Points
Identify the key challenges or pain points your target audience faces that the product you are promoting can help solve. What is someone willing to pay for in order to solve their problem? What was something that you were gladly willing to pay for in order to solve a problem that you had? For example, maybe you wanted your yard landscaped really pretty so you hired a landscaping designer to come up with the plans. Maybe you thought if you did it your self it would look DIY and not cohesive and you wanted to save money and time the first time by doing it right. Address pain points directly in your post and provide a solution.
Showcase Benefits
Rather than just listing features, focus on communicating the key benefits and outcomes customers will get from using your product. Paint a picture of how it will improve their lives or businesses. Talk about the outcome / end goal aka sell the dream. For example, if you are selling a “How to make money selling online courses” course, you could market the course by saying “How to sell online courses and make $10k a month.” This describes the end goal after learning how to create and sell courses online.
Call-to-Action
Near the end of the post, include a clear and compelling call-to-action that directs the reader to purchase your product. Make it easy for interested readers to buy. For example, you could use a “purchase now” button or say “get started today”.
Social Proof
Include testimonials, case studies, or results from other customers to build credibility and show the product in real life. People like to purchase popular products that other people like and that have a lot of sales and reviews. For example, when I see that a product got a lot of reviews and is a best seller, I am naturally drawn to it.
SEO
Use long-tail keywords throughout your post to help it rank in search results for topics related to your product. This can drive more targeted traffic to your blog.
Landing Page
Link to a dedicated product landing page from your blog post that provides more details and makes it easy to purchase.
Email Leads
Include an email opt-in offer to capture leads from readers who aren’t ready to buy yet. You can then nurture these leads over time. There is something called The Rule Of 7, which means that it takes an average of seven encounters with your brand’s message to make a sale. That is one reason why email marketing is so important when selling a product.
Market Research
Look at the competition, break it down, what are they doing differently than you? How is their content better than yours? Are the lacking in some area where you could provide value?
Conclusion
By following these tips, you can create content that naturally promotes your product while still providing them value. Remember, people like to buy, they just don’t like being told to buy. The key is to focus on how-to, education, and offering a solution to a problem rather than hard selling.
